ISOCHEM
routinely performs catalytic hydrogenations
either directly with hydrogen or using a hydrogen donor
such as formic acid derivatives or hydrazine ( transfer
hydrogenation ).
A specific Biazzi equipment allows hydrogenation
under pressures up to 35 bars and temperatures up to 140°C
in total compliance with cGMP.
Some examples of developed processes include:
- Alcohols from carbonyl compounds
- Haloanilines from halonitrobenzenes
- Cyclohexanols from phenols
- Aldehydes from acid chlorides (Rosenmund)
- Dehalogenation (for protection and deprotection sequences)
- Debenzylation reactions
- Reductive amination
- Chiral hydrogenation

Catalyst currently used: Pd/C, Ru, Rh, Ni Raney, Pt
Any other catalyst including chiral ligands could be handled.
